Optimum Audio was founded by owner and professional sound engineer, Ralph Sordyl, Jr. Ralph spent his childhood growing up and working in his family-owned music store, Sordyl House of Music in Springfield, IL. Leaving home, Ralph headed west to attend college at the Recording Institute in Los Angeles, CA, and continued to hone his audio expertise, mixing live sound for countless touring bands at venues across the globe. Eventually, Ralph enlisted in the Air Force serving as Chief Sound Engineer for the Air Force Band. After his service, Ralph established residence in the Washington, DC, area and Optimum Audio was officially born in 2005.
With an appetite for amplifying others’ voices and passions, Ralph and his team continue to grow Optimum Audio’s business across town. Since its inception, Optimum Audio has continued to expand client services and is always striving to master new challenges and the latest technologies. Today, you can find the expert audio engineers of Optimum Audio at academic panels, performing art centers, prestigious dinners, local concert series, street festivals and an ever-growing list of events across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ralph and the Optimum Audio team know the importance of thorough preparation and continuous, progressive training. With over 50 years of combined experience, Optimum Audio has learned to expect the unexpected and continuously work to improve technique. From professionally blending into your event to proactively thinking ahead, Optimum Audio is here to serve you and help make your event a success!
